CDSF organizes training for Zonal CDOs from Amhara, Tigray, Oromiya, SNNPR

Capacity Development Support Facility (CDSF) staff delivered training on planning to 32 newly employed Zonal Capacity Development Officers (ZCDOs). The training was organized in two sessions, one in Adama and one in Bahirdar cities from February 28-March 1 and from March 5-6, 2018 respectively.

The purpose of the training is to enable the newly employed ZCDOs to provide better support during the Woreda-level AGP2 planning that will be conducted from March 15-30, 2018 in all AGP woredas. Topics covered during the training include Community Level Participatory Planning (CLPP) process, roles and responsibilities of implementing agencies, stakeholder analysis, problem analysis, integrating cross-cutting issues and project appraisal. Key principles of coaching, the  Small Scale and Micro-Irrigation System (SMIS) data collection tools and AGP2 operational definitions of gender, Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture (NSA) and Climate Sensitive Agriculture (CSA) technologies were also covered during the training.

A total of 32 participants (three women) from Oromiya and SNNPR took part in the training.

After each training sessions, participants were asked to share their views about the training and their confidence to provide Job Embedded Support (JES) during the upcoming woreda planning process.

 I had worked for AGP before I joined CDSF, but this training gave me adequate knowledge and made the CLPP process very clear to me.  I have learned that the CLPP is an important document to guide woreda level planning process…  I’m equipped with enough knowledge to support the planning process at woreda level. The training has also helped me to critically analyze the gaps we had before in AGP planning.”
